Located just nine kilometres from San Martino di Castrozza at Passo Rolle, the Rolle Railz Park spans 800 metres in length and 300 metres in width. Packed with features, it’s easy to spend an entire day here. The park includes a freestyle zone, five jumps of varying lengths, a six-metre king, an eleven-metre riddle box, an eleven-metre kink and many more highlights. With its sunny setting and carefully curated weekend music, Rolle Railz Park has become a buzzing hub of the Dolomites freestyle scene.
Perfect for children aged eight and up, the Rododendro Minipark offers a joyful day on the slopes with jumps, tunnels and colourful installations in a kid-friendly setting. A wonderful holiday destination for families, nature lovers and winter sports enthusiasts. Thanks to its picturesque setting at the base of the Pale di San Martino, the village attracted English and German mountaineers as early as the mid-19th century, keen to conquer the majestic Dolomite peaks.
This Alpine pass connects San Martino di Castrozza with nearby Dolomite valleys. Situated at nearly 2,000 metres, the small settlement offers inviting hotels, welcoming restaurants, bars and shops – all with a stunning view of the Pale di San Martino.
Though home to just 500 residents, Fiera di Primiero boasts a long and rich history. Documents show that the village flourished economically in the 15th century through copper, silver and iron mining under the Austrian Empire. Notable sights include the churches of Madonna dell’Assunta, Madonna dell’Aiuto, San Martino, and the Palazzo delle Miniere.
Famous for its charming Christmas market in the town centre, Siror is the northernmost village in the Valle di Primiero. Its captivating panorama and architectural beauty make it a gem. Explore its large stone fountains, frescoed houses and the Chiesa di Sant'Andrea.
Tonadico is the oldest village in the Valle di Primiero. With 1,500 residents and nestled at the foot of the Castel Pietra ruins, it’s known for its historic buildings and beautifully preserved religious murals. The Palazzo Scopoli dates back to the 10th century, and the Chiesa di S. Vittore was built around 100 years later.
This village of 2,100 residents owes its visible wealth to around 500 historic mining tunnels dating back to the 15th century. Today, Transacqua is a beloved hub for artists. In summer, its green spaces flourish, and its landmarks – the Renaissance-style Palazzo Someda and the Chiesa di San Marco – are worth visiting year-round.
It’s easy to see why Mezzano is considered one of Italy’s most beautiful villages. Wall paintings and inscriptions, along with over 400 gardens, create a unique village experience. From the village centre, it’s a scenic one-hour walk to the beautiful Chiesa di San Giovanni.
Offering breathtaking views of the Pale di San Martino, Imèr draws pilgrims every 31 December and 1 May to the historic sanctuary of San Silvestro. Also worth a visit is the mountain chapel dedicated to Madonna della Neve on Monte Vederna. Each September, the village hosts the much-loved Knödelfest – a true treat for foodies.
