Since 2015, the slopes of Faloria have been the focus of a special snowboarding spectacle: at night, participants of the Snowboard World Cup jump on the Olympic Tofana slope, reaching breathtaking speeds of around 140 km/h. Beginners and families with children will find just as much enjoyment in the Cortina ski resort as snowboarders and professional winter sports enthusiasts. Slopes with varying difficulty levels offer plenty of space for practising and for fast descents. For the little ones, there is a ski school centre with a baby ski lift and conveyor lift in San Vito di Cadore. If you love quiet slopes, the small ski areas of San Vito, Auronzo and Misurina are perfect. Experienced skiers seeking sporting challenges should try the black Fedo slope in the Auronzo ski resort.

Some of the slopes belonging to Cortina are part of the Dolomiti Superski network, which provides access to more than 1,200 kilometres of slopes and 450 lift facilities with a single ski pass. Ski Areas in Cortina d'Ampezzo

Between the slopes of Faloria and Cristallo, there are seven ski areas with 14 slopes of varying difficulty levels, including five black runs. The Faloria – Cristallo ski resort is open from late November to early May. The extended opening times, a wonderful Dolomites panorama, and the variety of legendary slopes such as "Stradondi", "Canalone Franchetti", and "Vitelli" make it one of the most popular ski resorts in the UNESCO-protected Dolomites. It is especially popular among professional skiers.

With 50 kilometres of slopes and a selection of easy to challenging descents, the Tofana ski area caters to a wide range of skiers. At the foot of Tofana, families and beginners can enjoy the slopes, while experienced skiers queue up at the "Tofana Express" to take them to the black slopes "Canalone" and "Schuss". The "Ski Tour Olympia" is also worth exploring: walk in the footsteps of Olympic heroes and enjoy a bizarre rocky landscape. A cable car connects the ski resort with the valley station in Son dei Prade.

The Lagazuoi - 5 Torri ski area offers plenty of variety on 20 kilometres of slopes. From here, you can take a lift to the Passo di Falzarego. Just one more cable car ride and you will reach the Rifugio Lagazuoi mountain hut, where you can enjoy a top-class Dolomites panorama. The 3-star hut's terrace with a bar and restaurant is famous worldwide for its view of the Marmolada, Sella Group, Civetta and Tofana Group. A real highlight is the First World War ski tour, which takes you along the Dolomites front.

The San Vito - Auronzo – Misurina ski area is the ideal place for skiers who enjoy their sport without the crowds. Nine ski slopes of all levels await you at the foot of Antelao and Croda Marcora in the San Vito ski area. In Auronzo, at Monte Agudo, three lifts and seven slopes offer a small, but fine ski experience. It is also peaceful and pleasant in Misurina, a small ski resort with five slopes and two lifts, where you can enjoy views of Auronzo and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo.

With the Cortina Superpark, Cortina d'Ampezzo has gained a new attraction. This small, but excellent fun park offers the best conditions for skiers and snowboarders to indulge in some fun. Over a length of 500 metres, there are two different levels of difficulty: the Easy Line, where children and beginners can face challenges such as jumps, and the Media Line, which offers more demanding adventures.

Auronzo di Cadore (shortened to Auronzo) lies in a picturesque Dolomite valley with the villages of Cima Gogna and Misurina. Here, you can spend your holiday with the backdrop of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Relaxation, sport and culture define the tourism of this village, which has around 3,310 inhabitants. During the winter holiday, Monte Agudo offers excellent conditions for skiing. Cross-country skiers can enjoy 13 kilometres of trails at Palus San Marco. Other highlights include motor- and dog-sledging rides, as well as ice skating in the indoor stadium.

San Vito di Cadore is just 11 kilometres from Cortina and is considered the most important tourist centre in the Val Boite. In the San Vito ski area and the NeveSole park, you’ll find everything you need: 9 perfect slopes of varying difficulty levels and a playground for families right in the snow. Snowshoeing and ski touring are also very popular here.

Misurina delights with its uniquely beautiful landscape: the lake in the village reflects the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and other impressive Dolomite peaks. The air here is so clear that the Pius II Institute, which specialises in the treatment of respiratory diseases, has established itself here. Thanks to its high altitude and reliable snow conditions, Misurina is a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts. A highlight for young tourists from all over the world is the Highline Meeting, held on the Monte Piana plateau, which is also used as an open-air museum to commemorate the First World War.
